HOST OF NY1’S ‘ROAD TO CITY HALL,’
TO SPEAK AT APRIL 19 SILURIAN LUNCHEON
Errol Louis, host of NY1’s “Road to City Hall,” the preeminent New York City political news and opinion program, will be the guest speaker at our next lunch, on April 20. The hour-long show, which airs weeknights at 7:00 and 11:00 on New York’s all-news cable channel, features in-depth reporting and interviews with a vibrant mix of political newsmakers, journalists, pundits and leading cultural lights.
Prior to joining NY1 in 2010, Louis was a columnist for the New York Daily News, writing about a variety of political and social issues, and a member of the editorial board. In 2008, as a top-tier commentator, Louis was chosen to host the Morning Show, three hours of weekday radio talk, broadcast on AM1600 WWRL. In 2010, the Village Voice named him the city’s best newspaper columnist and radio show host.
In addition to his NY1 duties, Louis serves as director of the Urban Reporting Program at the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism. He is also a frequent guest on other local radio and television shows and, since 2008, a contributor to CNN, offering expert political commentary and analysis.
Born in Harlem, the son of a police officer, and raised in New Rochelle, Louis holds a B.A. in government from Harvard, an M.A. in political science from Yale and a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. He began his journalism career at the New York Sun, following a failed run for City Council in 1997. He moved to the Daily News in 2004.
